Amelia Island, FL – April 28, 2010 – Discover the nature lover in everyone through one of three nature adventures being offered at Amelia Island Plantation this summer for kids and families. Amelia Island Plantation, Florida’s natural island destination in northeast Florida, is offering a Family Nature Adventure vacation July 30th through August 1st 2010 in addition to two nature explorer day camps for children. The perfect blend of adventure and discovery, the nature explorer programs provide the opportunity to explore, experience and investigate nature through a variety of activities at Amelia!
Family Nature Adventure
Turn the family beach vacation into a natural experience to remember!
• Friday, July 30 through Sunday, August 1st
• Nature camp for families with a minimum age of 6 years old
• $250 for a family of four – additional members are $50 each; or $65 per individual for up to three family members.
• Friday night activities include a welcome introduction at the Nature Center with a tour of Amelia at night.
• Saturday from 8:30-10:30 participants will go birding on bicycles and in the afternoon from 1:00 – 4:30 participants will take part in a beach scavenger hunt and Seining activity.
• Sunday morning from 8:30 – 11:30 Families will enjoy crabbing, nature games and a kayak trip at Walkers Landing leaving the afternoon open to enjoy the other amenities at Amelia.
• Special room rates are available for nature camp attendees. A resort view two bedroom villa starts at $229 and an ocean view two bedroom villa starts at $279. (Rates are good for Friday, July 30th through Sunday, August 1st based on a family of four.)
• Space is limited and activities are subject to change based on weather conditions

• Day camp available for children ages six to eight
• Monday, June 21 through Friday, June 25 OR Monday, July 12 through Friday, July 16
• Young Nature Explorer camp runs from 8:30 – 1:00 p.m. daily
• $250 per child and includes lunch
• Kids will enjoy activities such as trips to Tree Hill Nature Center; beach games/seining; critter talks; fishing and crabbing; nature journals; biking; arts and crafts; and other nature-related games and activities.Eco Explorers
• Day camp available for children ages nine to eleven
• Monday, June 28 through Friday, July 2 OR Monday, July 19 through Friday, July 23
• Eco Explorer camp runs from 8:30 – 4:00 p.m. daily
• $350 per child and includes lunch
