The fall holiday season is vastly approaching at the Amelia Island Plantation. Here at the Recreation Department, the holiday‘s are a time of celebration, football, costumes, giving thanks and of course, Santa! Here are just a few of the activities that are going on during this upcoming holiday season.
For all you football fans, the end of October brings the Georgia vs. Florida college football game weekend. And with Halloween being just around the corner from that, what better way to celebrate than a carnival? The Halloween Carnival will be located at Amelia’s Wheels and will include several fun activities for the whole family to enjoy. Some of those activities include; inflatable slides, a haunted bounce house, hayrides, Halloween crafts, food, music and much more!
Another fun-filled holiday we celebrate is Thanksgiving. After you have eaten your turkey and have said what you are thankful for, head on over to Recreation. We will be having a Trivia Contest, holiday crafts as well as family BINGO! The day after Turkey Day, we would love to invite you and your family to our annual Lighting Ceremony. Come have a carriage ride and see the entire plantation light up with just a touch of a wand!
December brings about two great days of celebration that we absolutely love. Christmas at the plantation is beautiful and fun for the whole family. Join us on Christmas Eve to decorate Christmas Cookies. You can also experience, Santa tuck-ins and the beautiful lit up trees! Come celebrate a great holiday with us! We also offer a greatNew Year’s Eve Program for children and teenagers. Come party with us all night long as we jump into the New Year! We will have dinner, games, a bonfire, smores, a hayride and bowling for the teens! Bring your friends!
Don’t forget about our year round programs that are also offered. Kid’s Camp Amelia allows children of all ages to come and have fun in the sun. Just for Kids, an evening program, let’s kids have fun with their friends watching a movie, sitting around a bonfire on a star lit night or enjoying some good ole’ songs on a hayride around the plantation. The Teen Explorers program takes teenagers to different local attractions including paintball, rock climbing, movies and more.
