Blacktip Shark
(Charcharihinus limbatus)
This shark has a distinctive black tip on most of its fins except the anal fin. These are medium sized sharks that can grow to 8 feet long. Blacktip sharks are probably the most common shark in shallow water around Florida. They are frequently caught by fishermen and sometimes eaten.
