Segway™ of Amelia Island

Amelia's Wheels is offering new and adventurous ways to experience the Segway™ PT; take a tour of the resort or simply satisfy your curiosity with a brief lesson on the Segway™ PT.

Stepping into the new millennium of human transportation, Amelia’s Wheels is now the home of Segway™ of Amelia Island, an official dealer of Segway™. The Segway™ PT is the first of its kind in personal transportation, offering a self-balancing device designed to go anywhere people do. Its advanced technological make-up relies on the company’s breakthrough technology, “dynamic stabilization,” that enables the Segway™ to work with body movements. So, when riders move forward, the Segway™ PT moves forward, when the rider leans back, the Segway™ PT reverses. And now, anyone can try this exciting invention at Amelia Island Plantation!

The Segway™ Personal Transporter (PT) is the first of its kind—a self-balancing, personal transportation device designed to go anywhere people do. We are proud to make guided tours of our beautiful property available to our guests. The Segway™ provides a unique experience throughout the maritime forests, ocean views and marsh waterways of Amelia Island Plantation.

Junior Segway™ Experience 30 minutes $40
This experience is designed for the kids, but perfect for any age. Our coached orientation and mini tour provides a safe and fascinating environment for kids to enjoy. With the parents present or participating, it will be an experience that you do not want to miss.
Family Segway™ Experience
1 1/2 hours
$60
A tour for the whole family! Mom, Dad and the kids can ride together on this family tour, customized to the age and experience of our guests. Our coached orientation is followed by a tour through the property that travels along our novice level bike paths. Minimum weight restrictions apply to safely operate the Segway™. Coach rides with guests.
(All participants 16 years old and over)
  • Marsh Side Safari: Travel around 4 miles of trails showcasing the beauty of our golf courses and the marsh.
  • Creek Side Safari: Travel nearly 4 miles of roadways to Indian Mound landmark. Tour riders will also enjoy Oak marsh golf course views, while surrounded by shaded oaks and other beautiful natural surroundings.
Safari Segway™ Experiences
1 1/2 hours
$80
The Safari’s take you through all of the natural surroundings at Amelia Island Plantation. These experiences are created with adults in mind, offering an exciting experience in the journey and the destinations! Our coached orientation is followed by a guided tour that travels through our mid level bike paths.
  • Sea Side Safari: Travel around 3 miles of our beautiful trails with many twists and turns and spectacular views on the ocean side of the resort.
  • Marsh Side Safari: Travel around 4 miles of trails showcasing the beauty of our golf courses and the marsh.
  • Back to Nature Safari: Travel around 4 miles of trails with your coach and one of our naturalists. You will experience the natural beauty of destinations like Drummond Point Park, Egret airport, or Willow Conservancy.
  • Court Side Safari: Travel around 4 miles of trails showcasing Ocean Links golf course, Center Court at Racquet Park and undulating paths perfect for any Segway™ Tour

Full tour experiences are offered daily at 10am and 1pm. Junior Tours are by request.

*All tours are guided with a coach per 4 riders, and include full orientation prior to each tour.
