When you visit Amelia Island Plantation, we want you to be as comfortable as you can throughout your stay. We hope these guidelines will ease the stress of packing and allow you to begin enjoying your relaxing vacation even before you arrive!
Amelia Island Plantation is a family-friendly, natural resort in Northeast Florida. Guests will enjoy fun-filled days no matter what their choice of activity. Our location allows us the enjoyment of four seasons; although we are rarely, “cold.”
In the Spring and Summer, we recommend cool, comfortable clothing. Our temperature ranges from 80-90 degrees during the day with wonderful, breezy evenings in the 70’s. Appropriate attire includes swim wear, shorts, cover ups, sandals & flip flops during the day, especially if you are lounging around the pool and beach. Be sure to bring plenty of sunscreen, sun glasses, hats
& visors to protect you from the summer sun. For golfers be sure to pack collared shirts, shorts and soft-soled shoes or golf shoes for the course. We ask for soft spikes only on your golf shoes and we will be happy to install these on your shoes when you get here. In the evenings or for dining out, resort casual clothing is welcome in all of our dining facilities. Sun dresses, comfortable shirts, slacks are great for the ladies and shorts, collard shirts, slacks are perfect for the guys. For the Ocean Grill and PLAE, attire is dressy casual. No jeans, shirts or T-shirts, beach ware, flip flops or tennis shoes please. Dresses, slacks, skirts and comfortable shirts are great for the ladies while men are preferred to wear slacks and collared shirts; jacket and tie are optional. You can expect our warmer climate from February to late October.
In the Fall and Winter (November – January), we typically see cooler, yet mild temperatures. We recommend you pack a little heavier including light jackets and wind breakers, especially if you plan on playing golf, tennis or strolling on the beach. Temperatures during these months are typically in the mid to low 60’s during the day with crisp evenings in the 50’s. We recommend slacks, short and long sleeved shirts, sweat shirts and other comfortable clothing for day time activities. In the evening, resort casual clothing is appropriate for any of our dining facilities including sweaters, light jackets and slacks for both men and women. Even when it is cool here, you can still get sun, so don’t forget your sunscreen, hats & visors if you are going to be outside!
