Reporting Relationship
The intern reports directly to the Wedding & Event Planning Managers and indirectly to the Director of Conference Services.Hours
Interns will be scheduled 40 - 50 hours per week with one or two days off.
Some exceptions will apply.Overview
The Wedding & Event Planning Department is a fun, ever changing, environment demanding well rounded individuals with exceptional communication, time management, and creative problem solving skills. The intern will work directly with the Wedding & Event Planning Manager and their assistants.
Interns work closely with the Conference Operations, Conference Center Kitchen, and other Food & Beverage Departments. The intern, while working with Wedding & Event Planning Managers, will assist primarily in planning weddings, but also other social events.Required Skills/Certificates/Physical Requirements
Must have
• Exceptional customer service skills • Computer experience with word processing software • A positive and enthusiastic attitude • A valid driver’s license and have a car • Clear or corrected vision and good hearingMust be
• Motivated • Have excellent oral and written communication skills • Able to interact with a variety of departments • Flexible in daily schedule • Fluent in conversational English (speaking, reading, writing and
understanding) • Proficient in Microsoft Word • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously • Able to walk and/or stand six to eight hours a day
Preferred Skills
• Event Planning experience • Must be comfortable with speaking to groups of people (internal and external customers) including middle and upper level managers

1. Learn and follow the various departmental policies, systems, and procedures.
2. Respond to inquiries for information through written and verbal communications.
3. Observe and assist the various managers and staff of each area with daily activities to achieve our required standard of service.
4. Create and revise Group Resumés, Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) and Invoices.
6. Assemble and forward client approval packages.
7. Work with various departments to schedule group activities such as golf, spa services, group recreation activities, etc.
8. Work with Conference Operations office staff to assist with the billing process.
9. Complete special projects as assigned.
10. Assist in the upkeep of the “File Master of BEO’s.”
11. Attend Customer Service Class.
12. Attend staff “Home Team” meetings, “site visit”, planning and other necessary meetings.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.The intern may be subject to indoor and outdoor environmental changes conditions. Business may change from season to season causing schedules and hours to vary.
