Tennis
Reporting Relationship
The intern reports directly to the Director of Tennis Operations.
Hours
Interns will be scheduled an average of 30 - 40 hours per week. They may have a few weeks less than 30 hours. Must be flexible with hours.
Overview
The intern is responsible for providing an exceptional service to our members, guests, and employees by participating in all duties within the tennis operation. These will include court maintenance, pro shop duties, tennis instruction, organization, and implementation of tournaments. The tennis center consists of 23 courts, a pro shop, members’ lounge, and viewing deck.
Required Skills/Certificates Including Physical Requirements
Must have:
• Exceptional customer service skills
• A 4.0 - 5.0 level of playing ability
• Clear or corrected vision
• Transportation
Must be:
• Able to string racquets
• Fluent in conversational English (speaking, reading, writing, and understanding)
• Able to stand for long periods of time, lift objects up to 80 pounds, and have full use of arms and legs
• Functionally literate and possess general math skills
Preferred Skills/Certificates
• USPTA P2 status or above
• 5.0 playing ability
• USRSA level membership

Activities
1. Teach lessons and clinics.
2. Organize and run round robin tournaments.
3. Make reservations for tennis lessons.
4. Sell merchandise.
5. Serve customers and assist Pro Shop Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor.
6. Ring in tickets.
7. Run nightly reports.
8. Complete accurate reports on a timely basis.
9. Maintain a clean department.
10. Rotate displays regularly.
11. Schedule court time through reservations.
12. Arrange tennis matches.
13. Answer telephones.
14. Set up ball machine.
15. Stock merchandise, balls, towels, and cooler.
16. Perform court maintenance.
17. Assist in tagging merchandise.
18. Assist with inventory process.
19. Follow and enforce company and departmental policies, procedures and standards as described in the company handbook.
20. Attend staff “Home Team” meetings.
21. Attend Customer Service class.
22. Perform all other duties as assigned.
The intern may be exposed to all weather conditions.
