Required Certifications

Corporate Recreation, Social Recreation, Aquatics/Rentals* and Environmental Interpretation Interns With so many pools and access to the beautiful Atlantic Ocean, the safety and confidence of our guests, members and employees is of prime concern.
Therefore, all Corporate Recreation, Social Recreation, Aquatics/Rentals and Environmental Interpretation Interns must be certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid. Prospective interns should address certification requirements with managers during the interview process, if they will not already be certified when they arrive.
The certifying agency for Amelia Island Plantation is the American Red Cross; however we will accept other nationally-recognized certifications as well. Interns who already have the above certifications must show proof.

*Aquatics/Rentals Interns (summer term only) All summer Aquatics/Rentals Interns are required to be able to pass the current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Test.

Food & Beverage, Resort Culinary, Club Culinary and Pastry Interns All Amelia Island Plantation employees and interns must have food safety/sanitation certification. New staff will be scheduled for this training within 45 days of their start date. Those with current certifications must present proof of certification during the first two days of hire in lieu of attending this training.
